Important bike usage restrictions
Carbon and electric bikes have a maximum rider weight of 120 kg, as specified by the manufacturer. Road and city bikes are not permitted on dirt or unpaved roads, as only Gravel and MTB models are allowed on non-asphalted terrain. We recommend always keeping your bicycle in sight and never leaving it unattended in public areas. All bikes are GPS located.
Receiving the bike
The hiring client will receive the bicycle in perfect shape and clean. Any concerns about the condition of the bicycle should be made before accepting the bicycle. We recommend checking the bike before leaving the shop. All modifications and adjustments will be made at our facilities. If any modification or adjustment is made outside our facilities, the deposit will be retained until it has been verified that everything is correct.
ID, passport and deposit
When receiving the rented equipment, the client must present a valid passport or ID (for European citizens) and a credit or debit card with sufficient funds to cover both the deposit and any damages to the rented equipment. A deposit of €500, €300, €200, €150, €100 or €50 will be blocked depending on the bike rented. To process the deposit pre-authorisation, the card number and expiry date will be required. For home delivery services, the client must provide these details at least 1 day before delivery. Once all rented equipment is returned in perfect condition, the deposit will be refunded. The time taken for the refund to appear depends exclusively on your bank. Bankkarte cards are not accepted for deposit.
Contract between parties
The minimum age to rent equipment is 18 years old. The applicable rates are those published at the time of rental. If the customer does not meet the necessary conditions, the company reserves the right to refuse the rental. Any extension of the rental period must be agreed in advance by the company and requested before it expires. The company reserves the right to deny any extension request. Rental periods are calculated by full days based on shop opening hours. Any period exceeding this will be considered an additional day.
Equipment returns
Clients must return all equipment at the agreed date, place and time. No refund will be issued for early returns. Returning the bike dirty will incur an additional charge of €10. If the bike is returned after closing time, it will be charged as an extra day. It is the client's responsibility to look after the equipment against damage, loss and theft. Bicycles must be returned in the same condition as received; any loss or damage will be charged to the client at the time of return.
Cancellation policy
The full rental amount will be refunded without justification only when the cancellation is made at least 31 days before the rental start date. Cancellations outside this period are only eligible for a refund in cases of illness supported by official medical documentation, flight changes supported by original and modified tickets, or other circumstances duly justified with official documentation. Without such documentation, no refund will be issued. A 5% handling fee will be deducted from any refund. We reserve the right to cancel rentals in the event of adverse weather conditions, especially when official alerts are issued by AEMET, in order to ensure rider safety.
Insurance and bike theft
Third-party liability insurance is included in the rental price for all bicycles. By signing the contract, the client confirms they have sufficient funds to cover any additional costs arising from loss or damage to the equipment. It is the client's responsibility to comply with Spanish traffic regulations. Terral Bike Rental SL will not be held responsible for any traffic violations committed by the client. We strongly recommend that each customer holds travel insurance covering theft and medical assistance. In any case, the customer must pay for the bicycle in the first instance; Terral Bike Rental SL commits to supporting any insurance claim by providing the required documentation. The price of a stolen bike will be its retail price with a 20% annual depreciation from the date of purchase.
Bicycle faults during the rental period
Any failure of a bike component will be repaired or replaced as soon as possible. If the assistance required is not our responsibility, an additional charge will apply.
Group rentals
Group rentals apply to a minimum of 6 bicycles booked together. A single point of contact will be required to act as the group's representative, being responsible for signing the rental agreement and presenting their personal identification at the time of collection. The deposit may be charged to a single card or to separate cards, provided that each charge corresponds exactly to the deposit assigned to each bicycle, with no possibility of splitting or redistributing the amounts in any other way. The company reserves the right to regroup or redistribute available equipment based on stock at the time of booking.
Home delivery and collection
We offer a delivery and collection service to the customer's accommodation within our established coverage area, subject to availability and with an additional charge based on distance. To process the deposit, the customer must provide their card number and expiry date at least 1 day before delivery. At the time of delivery, the presence of the booking customer is mandatory. All other users of the bicycles must also be present; if they are unable to attend, they must have previously provided their bikefit or the measurements needed to adjust their bicycle.
