⚠️ On rainy days, this route cannot be done with e-bikes due to river swelling and unsafe conditions. At kilometre 16.5, special attention is required when crossing the A-7035 regional road.

Discover one of our favourite gravel rides in Málaga on this varied and challenging loop full of rivers, forests and fierce climbs. Starting from Terral Bike Shop, you set off along a beautiful riverside path that eases you gently into the adventure.

First, the route follows the river for the opening stretch, calm and scenic beside the flowing water. Soon, however, the terrain changes dramatically. Moreover, the second section throws in steep ramps that pitch up to a brutal 21%, demanding real determination.

Next, the ride climbs toward La Mairena, where the effort rewards you with sweeping mountain views. Here, the gradients test your legs, yet the scenery makes every pedal stroke worthwhile. Consequently, this section becomes the true heart of the challenge.

As you press on, the route enters one of the last preserved Mediterranean forests in the region. Furthermore, this shaded, fragrant stretch offers a peaceful contrast to the earlier climbs. Afterwards, a flowing descent carries you toward La Cala de Mijas, an ideal spot to pause before the coastal run home.

This challenging gravel ride in Málaga blends riverside calm, punishing climbs and beautiful woodland in one unforgettable outing. Therefore, it suits determined riders who crave variety and a genuine test.
